Comparison · Small-batch production

Makeable vs inFlow

inFlow is established inventory software for distributors, warehouses and manufacturers. Makeable is built for small-batch makers who mainly need recipes connected to ingredient stock. Here is how they differ and when each fits.

The short answer

Which one fits your production?

Makeable is an inFlow alternative for small-batch makers who need recipe-based capacity, bottleneck materials and order shortfalls at a low monthly cost, with an ongoing free plan. inFlow Manufacturing also creates bills of materials and shows what is buildable from current stock, alongside multi-location stock, barcode scanning, purchasing and B2B selling. Choose inFlow when you need warehouse and wholesale operations; choose Makeable when the recipe and capacity question is the whole job.

Choose by the work

A fair fit, not a feature contest.

Choose Makeable for recipe capacity on a small budget

You make goods from shared ingredients, sell through a shop or market, and need to know what stock can cover before accepting orders. Test it with your own recipes on the free plan.

Choose inFlow for warehouse and wholesale operations

You run multiple locations, scan barcodes, pick and pack large order volumes or sell wholesale through a B2B portal. inFlow is built for that breadth; check which plan includes manufacturing.

Compare cost against the work you actually do

Price the plan that includes every feature you need. If bills of materials are essential, compare inFlow Manufacturing rather than inFlow Inventory, and test the same recipe and order in both.

Before moving your catalogue

Switch without losing the stock picture.

  1. Confirm you do not need warehouse features

List the barcode, location, pick-and-pack and B2B workflows you use today. Makeable does not provide them, so moving only makes sense if those are not part of your day.

  2. Export products and bills of materials

Export your items and components from inFlow, then review columns and units. Makeable supports CSV inventory import on Studio and above. Rebuild or check recipes rather than assuming a direct transfer; there is no inFlow migration connector.

  3. Reconcile stock at a cutover point

Compare material balances and open orders on the day you switch. Run one production and one order through Makeable before relying on it. Material capacity does not predict labour or equipment limits.

Questions

Before you switch

Is Makeable an inFlow Inventory alternative?

Yes, for small-batch makers whose main need is recipe-based material capacity, bottlenecks and order shortfalls. It is not a replacement for inFlow's warehouse, barcode, multi-location and B2B selling features.

How much does inFlow cost compared with Makeable?

As reviewed on October 19, 2026, inFlow lists inFlow Inventory from $99 per month and inFlow Manufacturing from $169 per month, billed annually. Makeable has a free Maker plan, Studio at $19 per month and Workshop at $49 per month in USD. Check current pricing and billing terms on both sites.

Does inFlow support bills of materials?

Yes, on inFlow Manufacturing plans. inFlow's help centre states that bill of materials is only available with an inFlow Manufacturing plan, which also shows what is buildable from current stock. Makeable includes recipes on every plan, including free.

Is inFlow good for bakeries, candle or soap makers?

It can be, particularly for larger operations with warehouses or wholesale accounts. Smaller makers often need only recipes, ingredient capacity and cost per unit, which Makeable covers at a lower cost. Compare the features you will actually use.

Can I move my inFlow data to Makeable?

There is no dedicated inFlow migration connector. Export products and components as CSV, review units, import materials on Studio and above, and check each recipe. CSV or pasted order intake is available on every plan.

Try it on your own materials.

Add what is on your shelf, set one recipe, and check the capacity number. The Maker plan is free on 5 products, 30 materials and 15 open orders.
