Privacy policy

Overview

Lyannard Lie operates Makeable, a production planning tool. To tell you what you can make, we store the materials, recipes, products and orders you enter, plus the account details you use to sign in. That's the whole job.

We don't sell your data, we don't rent it to advertisers, and we don't train anything on your recipes. Your recipes are your business.

Who is in charge of your data

For the personal data collected through Makeable, the data controller is Lyannard Lie ("Makeable", "we", "us"). We decide what data is needed to run the service and how it is processed.

What we collect

• Account detailsYour email address, name, and the password hash created when you register. We never see or store your plaintext password.
• Business profileBusiness name, business type and an optional profile picture, only what you type in yourself.
• Production dataMaterials, quantities, units, products, recipes and orders you create inside your workspace.
• Technical dataBasic request logs (timestamps, error traces) needed to keep the service running and secure.
• Payment-related identifiersWhen you subscribe to a paid plan, Paddle (our Merchant of Record) collects payment details, billing address and transaction history. We do not store full card numbers or bank account details on Makeable servers.

How we use it

• Running the productCalculating capacity, bottlenecks, shortfalls and replenishment lists from the numbers you enter.
• Keeping your account safeAuthenticating sign-ins, detecting abuse, and recovering access when you ask us to.
• SupportAnswering your questions when you contact us, using the minimum data needed to help.
• BillingKeeping your subscription active, recording what plan you are on, and handling payments through Paddle.

Legal basis for processing

We only process your data where we have a valid legal basis.

• ContractMost processing is necessary to provide the service you signed up for: account creation, authentication, production calculations, and billing.
• Legitimate interestsSecurity, fraud prevention, service reliability, and customer support. We balance these against your privacy rights.
• ConsentOptional marketing emails or non-essential cookies, where you are asked explicitly and can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligationKeeping records required by tax, accounting or consumer protection law.

Who can see your data

Only you. Every table in Makeable is protected by row-level security rules enforced by the database itself, scoped to your user account. Another signed-in account cannot read, edit or delete your rows even if it tries to query them directly.

A small number of Makeable engineers can access infrastructure for maintenance and incident response, under access controls and logging.

• PaddleOur Merchant of Record for payments. Paddle receives the data needed to process payments, manage subscriptions, handle tax and invoicing, and provide buyer support. Paddle acts as an independent data controller for its own payment processing. See Paddle's Privacy Notice at https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy for how Paddle handles payment data.
• Hosting and email providersService providers we use to run servers and send transactional emails (for example, verification and billing messages). They only process data on our instructions.
• Professional advisersAccountants or legal advisers, only where required for our business or to comply with law.
• AuthoritiesWhere we are required to disclose by law or a valid court order.

Storage, security and retention

Data is stored encrypted at rest, and all traffic between your browser and Makeable is encrypted in transit with TLS. Profile pictures are stored in a private object store and served through short-lived signed access.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Delete an item and it's removed immediately. Ask us to close your account and we permanently delete your workspace within 30 days.

Billing records related to Paddle transactions are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law.

Cookies and local storage

Makeable uses a single session token stored in your browser to keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, and no third-party analytics pixels on the signed-in product.

Your rights

• AccessExport or view everything in your workspace at any time from your dashboard.
• CorrectionEdit your profile, materials, recipes and orders directly in the product.
• DeletionDelete individual records yourself, or email us to erase the entire account.
• PortabilityAsk for a machine-readable copy of your production data and we'll send it.
• Objection and restrictionYou can object to processing based on legitimate interests or ask us to restrict processing in specific situations.
